I’m Nadja, a documentary family photographer and a Sunnyside mum.
Documentary family photography has my heart because nothing is posed, nothing is staged and nobody has to smile or pretend to be someone they’re not.
Documentary family photography is for you if you want to remember how you lived, how you loved, how life really felt. If you want to remember the funny expressions, the shoes on wrong feet, spilt drinks, all the little details, not just the highlights or big milestones. If you want to remember the mess and the chaos and the beauty of life with little kids, who grow up too damn fast.
Your life - an epic smorgasbord of all the little stories
Do you look back at your archive of family photos and immediately transport back to the places where you grew up? The walls of your childhood bedroom (including the posters of your favourite rockstars), your favourite (but long-forgotten) stuffies and that dinner table where you had so many meals - and fights - with your parents and siblings.
These photographs are our proof - that life wasn’t always easy or perfect, that we often got lost in the marathon of the everyday, but in the end, those ordinary moments are what mattered most. Those everyday moments are their childhood. Those ordinary moments become all the little stories that are your life.

You’ll get a $100 print voucher for my print shop to spend on gorgeous prints, frames or that family album after your session.
Offer available until 15 June 2023. A 20% deposit secures your booking, with the balance due 7 days before your session. Travel fees may apply if the selected location is further than 30km from Sunnyside Kindergarten. Deposits are non-refundable, but we will reschedule your session without hassle, if anyone in your family feels sick (be it Covid or a different bug).
The process of creating your photo story

1 - We chat
You fill out my contact form or reach out via email or socials, and I’ll be in touch with you to discuss the story you want to document.
You reserve your session date with the first payment of your session fee (a 20% deposit), with the remaining balance due 7 days before the session.
And, I donate 10% of your session fee directly to Sunnyside Kindergarten!

2 - We hang out
I'll arrive at your home, and like an old friend we will spend a couple hours hanging out together.
The only difference is that this old friend has a camera with her.
Live your life, do what you usually do, have fun as a family.
That's the only instruction for the session you need.

3 - We print your story
About 4-6 weeks later, you will receive your online gallery, with 10 images available for high-resolution download.
You can then decide if you want to upgrade and purchase the full gallery with all the images, and/or print products, including fine art prints, frames and layflat albums.
And, 10% of all additional proceeds will also be donated to Sunnyside Kindergarten (if purchased this year).
